On March 5-6, 500 stakeholders from across the cooling industry came together for the 2026 Yale Cooling Conference to explore the latest advancements in technologies, discuss financing, and identify opportunities to chart a path to more sustainable cooling.

This year's conference took on challenges to scaling up lifecycle refrigerant management and alternative cooling technologies, with a focus on practical, on-the-ground action to cut cooling emissions. Attendees represented equipment manufacturers and end-users, cooling startups, local, state, and national governments, regulators, NGOs, carbon credit project developers and buyers, and the financial sector.

The conference was organized by the Carbon Containment Lab, with support from the Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY), the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), and the Refrigerant Emissions Elimination Forum (REEF).
