Education
Bring refrigerants into C-suite discussions and capital expenditure considerations, beyond day-to-day operational use.
There is a widespread lack of knowledge and awareness among building portfolio owners, operators, and their AE partners regarding refrigerants. Most are unaware that refrigerants are not just operational necessities but also a major contributor to Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, with significant climate implications. This gap underscores the need to bring refrigerants into C-suite discussions and capital expenditure considerations, beyond day-to-day operational use.
Addressing refrigerants proactively not only supports corporate climate goals but also enables owners and operators to make better decisions about system selection, design, and technology – unlocking long-term efficiency and cost savings, and reducing future financial risks tied to current and emerging policies, and long-term refrigerant availability. REEF intentionally goes to where the market is already gathering, leaning in with a learner’s mindset to understand why refrigerants are not part of the conversation. We host and participate in webinars, deliver presentations, target social media outreach, and collaborate with partners strategically to help building owners understand why refrigerants matter and what they can do. Our goal is to empower end users and other stakeholders through practical education - it’s about giving people the tools to know what they can do to make a difference.
REEF is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
