Event Recap
Building on the momentum of REEF’s Climate Week NYC 2024 event, our recent panel during Climate Week San Francisco brought together an inspiring group of experts for a dynamic conversation on how refrigerants fit into global net-zero goals. Held as a hybrid event, the session featured powerful insights into California’s leadership, emerging corporate strategies, and the urgent need to scale low-GWP refrigerants and refrigerant lifecycle management.
The event kicked off with opening remarks by Kristen Taddonio, who underscored why refrigerants remain one of the most mission-critical, yet overlooked, climate issues. A keynote on advancing state-level refrigerant policy set the tone for an engaging panel moderated by Zoe Dawson, featuring Ramé Hemstreet, Aanchal Kohli, D.Env., and Tilden Chao. From technology innovation to corporate ESG goals and policy gaps, the discussion covered what must happen in the next five years to accelerate HVAC decarbonization.
While we regret that no recordings or artifacts are available due to a technical issue, the impact of the event was undeniable. The audience Q&A sparked thoughtful exchanges, and we closed with a clear call to action: work together, scale bold ideas, and eliminate refrigerant emissions.
We’re grateful to everyone who participated and helped make Climate Week SF 2025 a success. Let’s keep the momentum going—onward to a cleaner cooling future!
